PK Challenge Sketch 32

So going on vacation, I brought along a few things so I wouldn't miss out on this weeks Peachy Keen Challenge. Trying to keep it simple and put it together fast, I changed it up a bit and this is what I came up with. Enjoy! Until next time...be good crafters!

Christmas Box

So...with the heat, I can't wait until winter when it will cool down. So thinking about winter and the cute winter is for the birds stamp by Peachy Keen, I set out on their challenge for this week. Actually, as I am sitting here looking at the picture of it, I think I need to ink the edges of the tag. This Christmas Box will come in handy for my handmade ornaments. I used my Cricut to make the box. I picked out light green glitter cardstock and holly patterned paper. I cut out two boxes and lids using each of the papers so that the inside of the box is lined with the paper that is on the outer part of the lid. And...the liner on the lid is the outer part of my box. I then added my cute tag to the top. Enjoy! Until next time...be good crafters!

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #31-Box It Up

Oh Baby

I just can't seem to keep up on all of the cards that I want to make for people. I am finally getting to some new baby cards. Here is one of the baby cards I just finished. I used my new Peachy Keen sleeping bear on the moon stamp along with a stamp that I had that never seemed to fit with anything...until now. Enjoy. Until next time...be good crafters!

Sunshine and Laughter

A week ago I saw Peachy Keen Challenge Anything Goes Popped Card and thought boy... do I have an idea for that one! And after an entire week of trying to make it come together, and searching for a fitting sentiment, I finally have it! It will go into my box of cards for OWH if I can bear to part with it. Doing this challenge has shown me that I can get creative and three dimensional with my stamps...no Cricut needed, but I used it anyway for a few things! (And, don't get me wrong...I LOVE my Cricut!)

So, here's what I did (in case you need to try it out yourself)...

Using my cute Peachy Keen Stamps, I stamped each image three times. Big Frog, Little Frog, and Big Sun. First, I cut out around the entire stamped image, one of each frogs and sun and put them aside. Then, I took another frog image and cut out front legs and with the head. With one frog image each left to cut out, I cut around the heads. Next up, the sun...with two images left, I cut out around every other point this time on one of the images. On the last sun image, I just cut out the center circle face. I colored each with chalk and my Glaze Pens, then pieced them together using foam squares.

After all of that fun, I got out my Gypsy and looked for accessories to go with my frogs.

The sentiment I used is a stamp from Hero Arts which I stamped twice then cut it apart to use on two lines instead of one long sentiment line.

I hope this card has left an idea or two in your head and a smile in your heart! Happy stamping! Until next time, be good crafters!

Bridal Coffee Card

Finally finished the card for my neighbor. I'm happy with it. I was scared for a bit because I felt like I was about to ruin it as I was finishing it and would have to start from scratch...but, it all came together nicely. Enjoy!

Until next time, be good crafters!

What to do next?

Well...it's been a while, so let's recap what's been going on and see where we are at now.

Operation Write Home- first box sent out had 37 cards cost $8.05 to mail. Deciding the better mailing option is Flat Rate for just over $11. Which means more cards, probably about 100. I'll put that on the back burner, but not too far back since there is a need for more cards...Heroes are requesting.

The Edible Garden- little by little it provides me with something other than fresh herbs to pick, like tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, chives, peas, and onions. However, the fresh herbs are great for lots of things...especially my latest project of flavored vinegar!

Flavored Vinegar- Thanks to my neighbor for bringing me cute jars for the finished vinegar (I had been searching for a few years myself but never quite came across anything), I finally started the steeping process. I have one white wine vinegar, a red wine vinegar, and a rice vinegar steeping at this moment. All stuffed with fresh herbs from the garden, along with some dried garlic bits and tricolored peppercorns (peppercorns not added yet). The white vinegar has sage, rosemary, and thyme with garlic. The red has rosemary, oregano, and garlic. The rice has basil, dill, and garlic. They are all in a cupboard and I am waiting for 3-4 weeks for them to steep. I check in on them every other day and gently shake the bottle. Speaking of bottles...I couldn't decide what to steep in, then I thought, why not just use the current containers? Those have already been cleaned, they don't contain metal...perfect, right? Well, the only thing I've noticed is that the bottles don't seem air tight. Can't wait to see how they turn out. My neighbor gets her choice of one when they are ready (as a thank you for the storage gift bottles).

My birthday- fun day spent with various family members at various times throughout the day. Best part was how excited my 5 year old was to "surprise" me with a carrot cake that he and his Grampie made and my 14 month old daughter's excitement of helping me blow out my candles. (To the extent of her signing "again" to her father to re-light the candles so we could again blow them out.)

So, with all that...what next? Hmm...

I do need to make a card for a neighbor...a bride with coffee.

Until next time...smile!
